A word from Ann Marie

For those of you praying for me who don't even know me, I want to tell you a little about myself. I have been married to a wonderfully supportive man, Ed, for 17 years and am the mother of six beautiful children who are ages 15 to 5. Our family has been so blessed by a wonderful Church and school community and family that have helped us so much. We are totally humbled by how God has provided for all of our needs.

In October of 2011 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized to my lungs and liver. During the next 12 months I had surgery on my colon, liver, and lungs and had 12 rounds of chemotherapy.  The chemotherapy was difficult: it made me very sick and left me with bad neuropathy.

Unfortunately the cancer was not eradicated.  During 2012, I had another liver surgery and began another type of chemotherapy. This time neuropathy was not a side effect; however it did worsen. This second type of chemo also caused me to get quite sick. I would have one week in bed and one week trying to be Mom.

Unfortunately that chemo stopped working in the Fall of 2014. I began a third type of chemo in December 2014 and found it to be ineffective in March of 2015. The difficulty that I face is that there are not many positive options of medicine to move to. I am seeing a specialist early May who focuses on studies for colon cancer.

We continue to pray for a miracle of healing.  We have seen miracles over the last 3-1/2 years in our family and know God has a plan. Thank you for joining us in this novena.

God Bless You!

Ann Marie

  7. Dear Ann Marie, I know your brother, Father Anthony, from when he was my son's superior during his time with the Friars a number of years ago. My son is now married and has a beautiful daughter, Gemma Marie, now 5 months old. I have communicated a few times with Father over the past years, and always turn to him when special prayers are needed. Now it is my turn to pray for someone who is very close to him ~ and I have been doing that for you. I have also asked a Benedictine monk (please don't consider me a traitor!) to say a Mass for you. I will continue my prayers and offering little sacrifices up for your complete healing. With six children still to raise, my prayers are urgent! God bless you and your dear family and may He give you comfort during this trial. Kay Tittmann

  11. Anne-Marie, I fondly remember meeting you and your mom many years ago after mass at father DiFazio's house when you only had two or three children. Afterwards we had coffee and snacks nearby. Father has kept us up-to-date on your family for all these years so you are not A recent addition to my prayer list. In particular I also pray for Marianna. May the love and prayers of so many people surround you and lift you up.
